We use collected data to: provide renovation estimates, communicate project updates, send promotional emails (with opt-out option), improve our website experience, and comply with legal obligations. We never sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

We implement SSL encryption, firewalls, and regular security audits. Despite best efforts, no internet transmission is 100% secure, but we follow industry standards (GDPR & CCPA compliant practices).

Agreement between user and livingimprovement.org. By accessing our website or booking services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services & Estimates

All estimates are valid for 30 days. Final pricing may adjust based on material availability, scope changes, or unforeseen structural conditions. A signed contract locks the price for 12 months.

2. Payment Terms

Standard payment schedule: 30% deposit upon signing, 40% after material delivery, 30% upon project completion (punch list finalized). Late payments incur 1.5% monthly interest.

3. Cancellation & Refunds

Client may cancel within 3 business days of contract signing for full deposit refund. After commencement, cancellation fee equals 15% of total contract or work completed (whichever greater). Custom orders are non-refundable.

4. Project Timeline

Estimated durations are not guaranteed due to weather, permit delays, or supply chain. livingimprovement.org will provide weekly updates. Force majeure (natural disaster, strikes) extends deadlines reasonably.

5. Warranty Summary

5-year workmanship warranty (see Warranty Info modal for full details). Manufacturer warranties on appliances/materials pass through to client.

6. Liability Limitation

livingimprovement.org total liability is limited to the contract value. We are not liable for incidental damages (lost income, etc.). Property damage claims must be filed within 14 days.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by New York State law. Any disputes shall be resolved via binding arbitration in New York County.

8. Modifications

Coverage Period

Five (5) full years from the date of final project completion, as stated on your signed certificate of completion. This warranty is fully transferable to a single subsequent homeowner (transfer fee $150).

What Is Covered

• All carpentry, cabinetry installation, trim, and millwork (defects in materials or workmanship).
• Tile and stone installation: cracking, loose tiles, or grout failure due to improper backing.
• Plumbing rough-in and fixture installation (excluding clogs from misuse).
• Electrical wiring, outlet/switch installation, and lighting fixtures (workmanship only).
• Drywall finishing, painting (adhesion/peeling not caused by humidity).
• Flooring installation (hardwood, laminate, LVP) — warping or separation due to subfloor issues.

What Is Not Covered

• Normal wear and tear, cosmetic scratches, or damage from accidents, pets, or natural disasters.
• Manufacturer defects on appliances, countertops, or fixtures (covered by original manufacturer).
• Issues arising from homeowner modifications after completion, or neglect (moisture intrusion from unsealed areas).
• Seasonal settling cracks in drywall (cracks less than 1/8" considered normal).

How to File a Claim

Contact our warranty department at warranty@livingimprovement.org or call (800) 555-WARR (9277) within 10 days of noticing a defect. Provide photos, contract number, and description. We will schedule an inspection within 15 business days. Approved claims are repaired at no cost using comparable materials.

Additional Protections

livingimprovement.org also offers extended warranty plans (up to 10 years) for an additional fee. All work performed by licensed subcontractors is bonded and insured. Warranty is void if full payment is not received per contract schedule.

Note: This warranty is in addition to any implied warranties under NY state law and gives you specific legal rights.
